Amanda: Johnny Cash has got to be one of the most likable guys that ever lived.  I don't know what it is about him.  He is not particularly funny or well-spoken or even that talented.  All his songs are very similar and not very innovative.  This album is another recording of him performing in a prison.  He can interact with a crowd like no other.  It was particularly entertaining when he told the story about getting arrested for picking flowers.  I certainly would not be able to make that many prisoners laugh and cheer.  Really interesting but I can't see listening to the songs without the audience's reaction.

RATING: 3/5

  1. This is an improvement over At Folsom. Here you get mostly Cash's own songs, some of which are pretty good. And a good new Dylan song, "Wanted Man". He brought some backing singers this time, so the sound is more interesting. The duets with June Carter are sweet especially if you watch the video of the concert. "Closing Medley" is the best thing about the CD reissue, mine has 18 tracks.
