Amanda: As a grammar freak, it cut me deep to purposely misspell the word Odyssey. Apparently the guy that did the cover art misspelled the word and so instead of admitting they were wrong, they decided to just go with it (typical male move). I absolutely adored this album, though; it was a very pleasant surprise. With a name like "Zombies" I figured the band would be heavy metal or insane. Instead, we got really pleasant Beach Boy music! These guys were really bad at naming! Anyway, this is probably one of favorite albums so far, mostly for its novelty. Simply wonderful.
RATING: 5/5
The album is strong in every area. Pop hooks galore, melodic piano and bass. Pretty strings production on "Care of Cell 44". The Beach Boys influence is striking at times with the layered vocals and harmonies. Interesting and intelligible lyrics as a bonus.
