Amanda: Disclaimer: I speak zero Portuguese or Spanish.  I felt a bit idiotic getting really into an album when I had no idea what was being said.  Still, I really enjoyed this album.  It was fun and new; I have never heard anything like it before.  This guy got banished from Brazil by the dictator and moved to London.  In other words, he is a major bad ass.  Track 10 is really the best of the album but, of course, there is not a bad song listed.  Good, different, and unsurpassed.

RATING: 4/5

  1. This album was very influential in Brazil as it kicked off the Tropicalia movement. The idea being to incorporate sounds from all kinds of musical styles, in this case on top of Brazilian rhythms. The sounds are very rich and interesting, and the songs are good all the way through. The last track "Eles" best for me, it's closer to North American style of 60's psychedelia.
