Amanda: Iron Butterfly?  What the hell does that mean?  I am sick of band names that try to be all profound and thoughtful but really are just nonsense.  Apparently the title of the album was supposed to be "In the Garden of Eden" but the main singer was so drunk that it sounded like he said  "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida".  At least that kind of makes sense.  A little bit...

So it doesn't seem necessary to do a review on the entire album since all anyone really seems to care about is the final, twenty minute long, track.  It is actually worth the twenty minutes, believe it or not.  It is really catchy and fun.  The rest of the album is just...meh.

RATING: 3/5

  1. I can see why this sold so well. The music is simple but well played by each member of the band. Basslines are distinct and interesting. Side 1 has very good songs, and the extended solos on side 2 are great. I was never bored.
