I was really excited about listening to this album. The Dandy Warhols perform the theme song to one of my favorite shows, Veronica Mars (Kristin Bell is America's sweetheart; don't @ me). But I wasn't really familiar with their other work.
Not every song is remarkable, but there are some really good tracks that make the entire album worth listening to. The standout is "Not If You Were The Last Junkie on Earth," which Courtney Taylor-Taylor wrote about his girlfriend who was a heroin addict. "I never thought you'd be a junkie, because heroin is so passe" is a great line. It's an interesting stance for a rock band to take.
Actually, this entire album is surprisingly wholesome. There's even a song called "Hard On For Jesus."
RATING: 4/5
