The List once again dips its toe into the world music scene. The majority of the albums they select are clearly trying to connect to Western audiences, and I am left with the impression that they are surely better, more authentic options they could have gone with instead. Like I said, this is only an impression, since I am not claiming to be a world music expert.
So this is okay, but it had the feel of music they would play at a vacation resort or cruise, so that American tourists could feel like they are getting a taste of the local flavor. Listenable, but a little obnoxious.
I want to end this List on amicable terms, so I hope the last ten or so albums left are better than this.
