Tracey Thorn has such a lovely voice. I could listen to her perform any genre of music and likely be content. But she's also a very innovative artist and this album almost feels like a new style of music. Sophisticated pop meets trip hop. I'm down.
Naturally with that coupling, this isn't the most timeless entry on the List. But it's not necessarily a bad thing to be a product of your time, particularly in the 90s. I would say this is an improvement of the duo's previous album on the List, Idlewild. It's a little less sappy. Only a little.
Excellent vocals, and thoughtful lyrics, which is enough to make me happy.
