We had a previous Barry Adamson album on the List that was an interesting concept: a soundtrack for a non existent movie. I sort of thought he was a passing novelty, but apparently the Listmakers thought he was worthy of two precious spots on the List. I'm not so sure about that.
On the whole the album felt rather disjointed, with some tracks much better than others. But I can't imagine anybody playing any of these songs on repeat. Which of course isn't a requirement for an album to be on the List, but it does make it way less fun.
This album benefits from Nick Cave and Jarvis Cocker's touch, and you can't argue that this is unoriginal. Still, I find myself repulsed by him, because I know David Lynch is a fan.
RATING: 2/5
