So yet another West Coast hip hop album, but this one is (thankfully) a little different. For one thing, it's Latino hip hop, and the Latin influence makes it much better than other hip hop albums of the time.

For another thing, the lyrics were also weren't the typical self-aggrandizing, hate speech fare I've come to know and despise. They actually covered interesting social issues in a unique way. It's still not my favorite style of music, but this album was much more enjoyable to me than the previous entries on the List.

I also got the sense they were more influenced by Public Enemy than N.W.A....always a good thing.

RATING: 3/5
