I feel like there is a very generic "early 2000 rock" sound that is used by U2, Coldplay, and now The Doves, to fill stadiums. It's not a terrible thing, but it's not the most interesting music either.
This makes for a pretty solid collection of songs that don't really lag, but don't really do anything new. Actually, I think I enjoyed this more than U2 or Coldplay, just because it wasn't tinged with self-righteousness.
So a good, but not very memorable, album.
