The List screwed up by having this album be the next entry, as we still have a couple more albums to go before we hit 1999. I am much more forgiving of this oversight than other snafus the Listmakers have made, like their bungling of world music or their insistence on dedicating half of this List to the metal genre (might be a slight exaggeration but it certainly feels that way).
Proving that cringey covers of "Imagine" had a long history prior to 2020, Khaled throws another one into the mix. It's just so overdone at this point, it's hard not to roll your eyes during it. Outside of that, however, this is actually a pretty fun album. To my knowledge, we haven't had an Algerian album on this List before, but I tend to enjoy what we've heard so far of North African music.
Not something I would want to listen to over and over, but enjoyable nonetheless. And "C'est La Nuit" was beautiful.
RATING: 3/5
